This 170,000-area National Recreation Area features hundreds of great viewing locations for the eclipse. Many locations may be difficult to get to (due to gravel backroads) but there are other areas that are easily accessible.
Two main highways run through Land Between The Lakes. US 68/KY 80 is a four-lane highway that should be easily accessible during the eclipse event. The Trace is a two-lane highway that runs north-south through the center of Land Between The Lakes.
The best place to view the eclipse in LBL is Fenton Lake Access area, located right next to the four-lane US 68/KY 80 corridor and Eggners Ferry Bridge. There will be food vendors there and parking for dozens of vehicles. You can access Eggners Ferry Bridge across Kentucky Lake by foot along the hike-bike path. This will be one of the best viewing locations in the area, but there are very limited facilities and it could be crowded.
Land Between The Lakes has put together a comprehensive list of other viewing locations. You can access it here.
Land Between The Lakes has put together an incredible schedule of events across their main attractions in the recreation area. There are too many to list here, so we invite you to check out their official Eclipse section for details.
The popular Elk & Bison Prairie will be closed until 3:00 p.m. on the day of the eclipse for logistical reasons.
